(JAN. 2011) IRISH UNITED DRUG has decided to optimise their master routes with Transvision Route Planner in cooperation with Transvision’s partner Tranzaura.
United Drug, which is based in Dublin, distributes pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medicines to pharmaceutical wholesalers and hospitals in the Republic of Ireland.
The United Drug Group is an international healthcare services provider which employs over 4,100 people across Europe and the US. The group comprises three major divisions: Healthcare supply chain, Contract sales & marketing services, and Packaging & speciality.
In the Republic of Ireland, the company distributes goods according to a fixed master route structure with approx. 70 vehicles. Within this structure, customers are visited on certain days and with tight delivery time windows.
Using Transvision Route Planner, United Drug will now optimise their master routes in close cooperation with Transvision’s partner Tranzaura.
The operations director at United Drug Ireland, Paul Ryan, explains: “When deciding on a solution provider for our routing project, we considered a number of vendors but, after a lengthy process, eventually chose Tranzaura.
“We chose Tranzaura as a partner because they not only demonstrated their software’s flexibility in handling the more challenging aspects of our business, but also a strong understanding of our business and customer requirements.
