CANON SELECTS Transvision Fleet Planner as its new dispatching tool for planning and managing their service technicians’ work day.
 
InitiallyThe solution will be implemented for technicians in North Zealand in Denmark who provide repair and maintenance services.
 
Transvision Fleet Planner was chosen because Canon needs a dynamic planning tool to maintain a high level of service. A mix of fixed service jobs and continuously incoming orders make planning complicated. It is further complicated by the fact that customers have a guaranteed response time.
 
It can be very difficult for the planners to determine how long each customer visit will last. Some days a technician may only have time to do one out of six planned jobs because the job takes more time than expected. A dynamic planning tool like Transvision Fleet Planner is very useful in a situation like this, because it makes a re-planning of missed orders and broken time windows much easier.
 
Transvision Fleet Planner handles pre-planning in the morning and planning throughout the day as new service calls appear and the technicians’ status reports are registered.

Transvision Fleet Planner will be integrated with the order-taking system and mobile units, WinServ, delivered by WS Software. The orders are set up in WinServ and sent to Transvision Fleet Planner where the planning takes place. T
he planned orders are then sent to the technicians through WinServ.
