(AUG. 2006) KOKKEN & JOMFRUEN HAS
implemented Transvision Route Planner to support them in optimising the distribution of their catering deliveries.

The company delivers catering food to both business and private dinners and lunches from 3 kitchens and on 16 vehicles. During peak periods the company hires up to 50 external vehicles to complete the distribution.

Kokken & Jomfruen is order producing so the order pool changes from week to week with the highest quantity of orders on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. As a result of planning of new customers every week plus a growing business, manual planning was becoming too demanding and Transvision Route Planner was introduced.

After a trail period of Transvision Route Planner and an evaluation of the performance and savings, Kokken & Jomfruen had proof of a solid business case and decided to acquire the system.

The planners at Kokkken & Jomfruen are now simply importing the orders on a weekly basis into Transvision Route Planner. Based on the orders’ time windows, the availability of the vehicles, and the placements of the terminals the system quickly performs a complete route optimisation.

This automatic planning saves Kokken & Jomfruen time and money on planning and ensures that the distribution is carried out in the most efficient manner. The detailed route planning also ensures that Kokken & Jomfruen makes realistic plans so the deliveries meet the promised time windows to secure high service levels.
