(SEPT.) LOUIS POULSEN EL-TEKNIK A/S has purchased Transvision Route Planner for strategic purposes. After successfully having evaluated and used the software in a period they decided to make a long-term investment.
Louis Poulsen produces and delivers electrical components to customers in the industry and the public sector. The distribution is carried out on up to 60 vehicles all managed by an external haulier.
Transvision Route Planner is used to assist Louis Poulsen A/S in negotiating the transportation agreement with the external transportation company. The number of drops varies greatly and therefore the company needs a tool to ascertain the most cost and time efficient route planning of these.
Transvision Route Planner is a powerful tool which forges several planning levels from strategic over tactical to operational planning. Based on actual operational planning simulations Louis Poulsen A/S creates the basis for the long-term framework agreement with the external haulier.
With the key figures in hand calculated by Transvision Route Planner the company is in a powerful situation during negotiations with the external hauliers. Additionally, the program can of course be utilised in the post agreement phase. Tests can be carried out continually to make sure that route planning key figures are actually being met.
Due to user-friendly graphical interfaces the users were able to start using the software program fast and with just a few days of training. The actual planning is then carried out rapidly due to the support of the system’s advanced planning algorithms.
