(JULY 2007) VEOLIA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES BELGIUM has recently decided to purchase Transvision Waste Planner with the intention of facilitating the optimisation of waste collection for approx. 100 trucks from 10 locations.
Veolia Belgium delivers fully integrated environmental services to almost all industrial, commercial and municipal sectors. It is part of the larger Veolia Group that has 89,500 employees worldwide and provides more than 50 million people in 33 countries with collection and waste management services.
Veolia’s decision was based on the fact that Transvision is able to offer a complete solution that meets the specific requirements of the waste industry. Among these requirements are street network editing for high density planning, visit pattern and frequency planning, refuse collector capacities and multi-compartment planning.
On top of this, Transvision Waste Planner is an integrated solution that covers everything from static master routes planning to dynamic real-time execution, from household waste routes to industrial waste in wheel-bins as well as containers and skips.
Project Manager Luc Willems from Veolia Belgium says, “In the past months we have put Transvision to the test with a pilot, and we are convinced that the Transvision Waste Planner has the best fit for our waste collection.
We implement the system in two phases. The first phase is to set up new master routes for the industrial bin collection. In phase two, the system will be set up in real-time mode to plan ad hoc orders and urgent container transport”.
