(MAR. 2008) FOODTANKERS HAS PURCHASED Transvision Fleet Planner for optimising the international transport of liquid food ingredients across Europe on its fleet of 120 trucks. The system will, initially, be implemented in the Nordic transport operation and then be rolled out on the Pan-European operation at a later date.
Foodtankers is a part of Imperial Logistics International GmbH which has approximately 3000 employees and a yearly turnover of around 850 million euros. The company is headquartered in Karlshamn, Sweden and has offices in Poland, Hungary, and the Netherlands. It is a successful and dynamic company operating in the highly specialised market segment of liquid food transportation.
As part of the project, Transvision Fleet Planner will be enhanced with new FoodTankers specific functionality, including improved compartment loading rules, additional driving time rules, and new rules relating to tank washing between deliveries and new pick-ups.
FoodTankers chose to implement Transvision Fleet Planner due to its mature functionality for tanker transport, its ability to distribute plans across many planning centres, and its advanced real-time functionality.
