(NOV. 2008) FINNISH NESTE OIL has decided to implement the oil specific planning system Transvision Oil Planner for its complete fuel transportation operation. The system will be planning for more than 1,000 trucks in Finland, the Baltic States and Russia.
Transvision Oil Planner was chosen because of its large range of fuel transportation specific planning functionality. This involves, among other facilities, compartment planning, down-grading facilities, loading propositions, floating-stock planning, and rolling and real-time based optimisation.
Moreover it is vital for a company of Neste Oil’s scale and size to have a true enterprise planning system based on a full distributed and multi-user platform, also capable of complying with the internal active directory user management.
When put into operation the system will not only be able to optimise transportation and distribution routes for Neste Oil’s own controlled trucks, but also serve as a broadcaster for partner orders and partner terminal loading planning.
The system will intially be implemented in Finland, and then subsequently rolled out in the export markets. The system will be enhanced during this process with additional oil specific functionality increasing the benefits of the system.
