(MAY 2009) FYNS HVIDEVARE LEVERING has purchased Transvision Route Planner for the purpose of optimising the distribution of goods to end-customers and between depots and shops.
Fyns Hvidevare Levering is a relatively new white goods contractor which transports kitchen hardware and the like for punkt1, Denmark’s largest chain of white goods suppliers (part of the Elbodan group). The company has recently won a major part of punkt1’s distribution on Zealand and is now absorbing the challenges of the new market.
Resolving such challenges takes up much of the management’s time, which would be better spent developing the company. This becomes possible with Transvision Route Planner, which makes the planning of the above much less time-consuming, thus generating more time for important developmental activities and operational execution. In the first phase, the system will be used for automatic planning to create efficient routes which are handed out to the drivers. In a later phase, these final route lists are sent directly to the drivers’ mobile units.
Besides saving planning time, the system also ensures optimal use of resources, allowing Fyns Hvidevare Levering to take in more customers without acquiring extra equipment. Furthermore, Transvision Route Planner will make it easier for the company to meet the essential requirement of delivering on time. This will not only increase customer satisfaction, but also reduce the number of overtime hours for the drivers.
To begin with, the system will handle planning on Zealand, followed by a roll-out on Funen. Transvision is looking very much forward to this enterprise and to cooperating with Fyns Hvidevare Levering.
