(JAN 2010) VIFILFELL HAS IMPLEMENTED Transvision Route Planner for the planning and optimisation of the daily distribution of soft drinks and beer to the retail and food service industry across Iceland.
In addition to producing local fruit juices, Vifilfell is the Icelandic franchisee of brands of The Coca-Cola Company and Carlsberg. Operating 12 vehicles, these products are distributed all over Iceland.
Before implementing Transvision Route Planner, the complexity of working with visit patterns and tight time windows made planning a time-consuming task. Thus, master routes were seldom changed.  In general, Vifilfell saw a great potential for optimising routes and delivery accuracy, which led them to choose Transvision as their supplier of route planning systems. This decision was primarily based on Transvision’s strong competencies when it comes to optimising master routes with visit patterns and tight time windows.
A test of Transvision Route Planner was carried out in December 2009, showing a solid savings potential. In light of this, the company decided to invest in the comprehensive and advanced route planning and optimisation system Transvision Route Planner.
The implementation went very smoothly. Initially, Vifilfell will utilise Transvision Route Planner for optimising distribution routes, but in the future the company also wishes to optimise the routes of the sales personnel.
With Transvision Route Planner, Vifilfell is ensured that customer service and delivery accuracy are improved while distribution costs are kept to a minimum.
